Aiguablava

One of the most beautiful corners of the Costa Brava, formed by several coves: including Platja Fonda, and Fornells all of which are collectively known as the famous bay of Aiguablava.
The bay of Aiguablava is one of the best known of the collection of bays below the town of Begur. The turquoise color of its waters makes it unmistakable bordered by mountains and pine forests that reach the sea with spectacular views. There are restaurants by the sea that offer a varied and excellent range of Mediterranean dishes. There are also many Hotels to choose from including one of the National chain of Parador Hotels which is situated in a very stunning situation.
Fornells formed by small coves, stands out for its marina and its famous Hotel Aiguablava with fantastic views. The road serves as a connection between its small coves: Ses Orats, de n’Estasia and la cala d’en Malaret.
And finally, Platja Fonda, the most wild and natural cove in the area, one of the quietest beaches due to its location and access via a long flight of steps. Its grey sand and landscape make it special.
Excellent beach-side restaurants offer locally caught fish as a speciality. The nearest shops are Palafrugell or Begur some 10 minutes drive, so a car is essential.
